Office Time at Thomas William Furniture

We just past my three year anniversary of working full-time with Tom at Thomas William Furniture.  In a blink of an eye, time has gone that fast. On April 3, 2014 I decided to take a leap of faith to join and collaborate with Tom full-time.  My office is inside our home, which is 50' from the shop, at the kitchen table.  

We have titled my position as Business Manager for Thomas William Furniture.  I wear a lot of hats since our company is a two man operation, Tom and I.  I do everything except get involved with making the furniture.  Mainly, though, marketing is a big portion of my job.  

Over the 34 years I have accumulated a lot of experience at the places I was employed; job shop, finance company, science museum, heavy equipment dealer, baseball stadium, staffing company, homeless shelter, packaging distributor and educational institution.  It's quite a diversified background of places but they all taught me something a little different which I added to my plate of experience. My educational background is a BS in Human Services and at one time in my life I thought I was going to be a social worker. 

Tom and I enjoy and are thankful that we are able to work together. What began as a woodworking experiment years ago really appealed to my business experience, creativity and I discovered that I really enjoy building Thomas William Furniture.
