Mission Statement

Thomas William Furniture is guided by our mission to: build furniture that celebrates the natural beauty of wood; is of simple, unadorned, graceful lines; and is crafted for a long, useful life.

Craftsmanship

As a designer and builder of fine furniture, Tom is largely self-taught. His teachers are the woodworkers of the last century who left a legacy of beautiful forms executed by hand and built to last for generations. Our designs and joinery accommodate for the expansion and contraction of solid wood as the humidity changes.

Lasting Value

By inserting one element of wood into another, a mortise-and-tenon joint provides unshakeable strength. Tom is a one man shop and when in his workshop fashions the functional art from different spieces of woods. Trees must be given 75 to 125 years to mature. Although when harvested with care, it is vital the objects he makes from this wood last at least as long as it took the tree to grow. Accordingly, our furniture is conceived to offer service and beauty for generations of users. We proudly guarantee our furniture for the lifetime of the original owner.

Guarantee

Proper care will ensure a lifetime of satisfied use from your Thomas William Furniture piece. Should our furniture fail at any time during the life of the original owner because of workmanship or a failure of the wood materials, we will either repair or replace it. Some custom requested wood species and modifications are excluded.

Thought For The Day

"When you buy art from an artist whether at an art fair or a gallery, you are not helping a CEO buy a third vacation home. You are helping a small business family support themselves to put food on the table, pay a mortgage, pay for college, pay for health insurance. You are a shareholder in the success of independent artists. Thank you for supporting independent artists!"
